Re: Engage was a new one day annual conference at the Brighton Digital Festival with a focus on digital marketing. That year the event discussed the challenges of inclusivity within the industry.

The brief from organisers Jana Lyon, CEO of Badlamb, and engagement specialist Sarah Harrison was to create an identity, website and social media campaign assets for the event that would both attract sponsors and draw an audience.

With a small budget and tight deadline we needed to work quickly to create the brand before moving onto the website. After several iterations we choose a simple but bold typographic logo that could be displayed in different colour-ways to represent the theme of inclusivity.

Geometric sans serif Poppins was used as the primary typeface in the logo and for headers. This was paired with Source Sans for body copy. The characterfulness of Poppins and the clear legibility of Source Sans combined to create a type system that was striking yet straightforward. Alongside the bold colour palette I think the we created a brand embodied the energy Jana and Sarah wanted to establish for the event.
